This year my sisters and I made a pact that we were going to spend more time together as couples. We are all in the same situation that our children have moved away from home and we have more weekend time available to spend with each other. We thought it would be fun to take a camping trip together. We decided we would do this in the fall of the years so that the camp grounds would not be as crowded, there would be less bugs, and we could take in some of the beautiful fall colors.
As the weekend approached I began pulling our camping equipment off the storage shelves in the garage. We do not camp as often as we used to so I knew that I would need to dust off the items. My sisters and their husbands have not done as much camping as we have so we agreed that we would bring the majority of the supplies. I had taken the dishes and silverware into the house to wash when one of my sisters called. She wanted to review what she was bringing for food. She had bought canned beans to go with one of the meals that we had planned. She was checking to see if she needed to bring a can opener. I told her that I knew I always had one in with the equipment and even though I had not come across it yet I would bring one. When I got off the phone my husband mentioned that he had tossed out the can opener the last time he had taken it along on a hunting trip because it was not working right. He started looking through my gadget drawer to find a can opener to take along. I told him that I needed to use the can opener in the house before we went camping. He wrote a note to remember the can opener and placed it on the message board.
One of my other sisters called to check in and she mentioned that she had bought canned pie filling to use with the pie irons over the fire. She also was inquiring about a can opener. I explained that I just discovered that my husband had tossed out one. She said that she had an extra so she would bring it along.
We arrived at our camp site and found that there were very few other campers in the area. We were close to a water fall and the leaves were a beautiful color. We pitched tents then went for a hike. When we returned to camp we started making supper. My one sister pulled out the pork and beans as well as the bean-less chili that she had brought. The chili was for the top of the hot dogs we were cooking. My other sister said that she did not bring the can opener because when she checked the pie filling the cans had pull tops on them. It took two of the guys ten minutes and a broken knife to get the cans opened. The next day we purchased a new can opener and a knife to have with the camping supplies.

When looking for digital cameras, you will find a huge selection of models from which to choose. It can be very confusing to the average consumer, and finding which are the best digital cameras might be a matter of personal preference. You have to decide how much memory you want, what you will use your camera for, how many features you want, and what type of price range you have in mind. This is all confusing, that’s why it is important to do some research to narrow your search before you even think about a purchase.
Your first consideration should be money. How much do you have to spend? Once you decide on a price range, you can narrow down what might be the best digital cameras within that amount. There are good ones in almost any price range, but the more you spend the more bells and whistles you can get. If you really just want something simple, you are going to save money by getting a lower priced model.
After you have narrowed down choices by price, you want to look into memory. You want to get the most memory for your price. Remember that you can add a memory card to get more memory, but this will cost you extra. The best digital cameras come with a decent amount of memory, as you may have guessed, and the more mega pixels you get, the better quality you will get for your photos.
You should next look at the features you want in a camera. Some come with video, and others come with multiple settings for different picture taking situations. If you are lucky, you will find one with both within your price range. To choose the best digital cameras for your needs, consider where you take the most pictures. If you want to take a lot of concert or sport pictures, you need one with a lot of different settings. If you simply want something for taking pictures at home or outside, you won’t need as many settings to get good pictures.
Once you have all of that figured out, do an online search for recommendations for the best digital cameras. Perhaps the biggest help you will find will be personal reviews of different brands and model of camera. The best indicator of a great digital camera is happy and satisfied customers. You may also want to look on Consumer Reports - website to find camera reviews and recommendations.

You may have more storage space than you know in your home. A bathroom space saver can really help you maximize the area in your bath no matter how small the room is. These handy units come in all shapes, sizes, colors and styles. It will be easy to find a bathroom space saver that suits your decor.
When I first entered the master bathroom in my house I was surprised that it was so small. I loved the home and I liked the general layout of the small room. The tile was brand new and the hardware on the sink and bathtub was stunning. There was plenty of light in the area but it was just plain small. Once my husband suggested getting a bathroom space saver I was sold.
Shopping for such an item isn’t always an easy task. First of all, I had to consider how I was going to decorate the small room before purchasing the bathroom space saver. Fortunately, there are a lot of options to consider but unfortunately, these options can make decision-making time very difficult.
The good thing about bathroom space savers is that they are relatively inexpensive. You can find a very nice piece of furniture that will provide elegance and extra storage for even the tiniest baths. These units come in so many different styles that you are sure to find the right look in any price range.
I decided to skip the very inexpensive bathroom space savers. My master bath is my oasis and my retreat from daily stresses. In order to create the perfect sanctuary I thought that it was best to make a bit of an investment. Fortunately, I didn’t have to go overboard with the cost. I found a striking bathroom space saver for a reasonable price. It wasn’t the cheapest on the market but it was by no means the most expensive, either.
Once I made my choice I decided to decorate around the new bathroom space saver. I really wanted a shabby chic decorating theme in the small room and the item fit right into my dream bath. The unit is white with frosted glass windows on the doors and lovely glass handles.
The bathroom space saver fits comfortably around the toilet. In fact, you hardly even realize that the unattractive necessity is in the room because it is surrounded by the beautiful piece of furniture. Now I have extra storage and attractive design in my sanctuary thanks to my bathroom space saver.

By now I am pretty sure that my bathroom scale hates me. You know what I am talking about right? Just like millions of my countrymen who try to fight the just battle of the bulge, I too was tempted to buy a bathroom scale. I finally found one on a discount sale at the local Walmart and succumbed to my temptation. I regret my decision even now. You want to know why? Well, the first thing is that I should have bought an exercise machine or at least enrolled in the local gym before I bought the damned bathroom scale. I didn’t do that and each time I step into the bathroom and onto the bathroom scale, I am severely taunted.
My bathroom scale is a constant and painful reminder of how many pounds I need to lose. You can call it my sarcastic sidekick in my battle against the bulge. Most people I know usually have allies in the good fight, but I was unlucky enough to be blessed with a despicable fiend and that too in the form of a miserable bathroom scale. Anyways, to cut a long story short, I could bear the taunting no more and decided that I would do something about the weighty issues that had made my life a living hell. So the very next day, I enrolled for a crash program in weight loss at the neighborhood gym.
Here too, it seemed as though my travails were not to leave me alone. There was a gym scale, a slightly larger version of my friendly bathroom scale. And each day as I walked sullenly into the gym to check my weight, the fiend would creak with sarcasm as though I weighed a ton. On that count my bathroom scale was a lot better. At least it never creaked. Nevertheless, undaunted, I would continue with my exertions in the vain hope that I would be able to get a nod or wink of approval from the bathroom scale.
No such luck. You see, I am a sucker for the finer things in life. Which is one of the biggest failings a weight loss practitioner can ever have. Each time I would hit the treadmill, I would more than amply compensate by attacking a juicy steak or a bowl of ice cream. And the result would appear like a smirk on the face of my despicable bathroom scale. So after having spent a month or two sweating it out in the gym, all I had managed to rid myself of was a couple of hundred dollars. So I did the next best thing I could. I got rid of the bathroom scale as well.

When designing a home, one thing people may not put enough time into is planning their lighting scheme. That might sound like something that is reserved for concerts or theater productions, but you have more to think about than you may realize. You want the lighting in your home to be inviting, easy on the eyes, as well as adequate and functional. One of the most important rooms to consider is the bathroom. There are many bathroom lighting fixtures from which to choose, and you have to decide what is right for you.
Many women put their makeup on in their bathroom each morning. I have lived in a lot of places, and I have to say that not many of them had adequate bathroom lighting fixtures for this purpose. Makeup can be tricky, and you need as much light as you can get. The only thing is, it has to be as close to natural light as possible. Large glaring florescent lights are never a good idea for bathroom lighting fixtures. These give off a harsh light, and if you apply makeup underneath one, you won’t be seeing what you will look like in the light of day.
When it comes to bathroom lighting fixtures, the best kind is something you may not have considered. The sun will give you the best and truest light you can find. The trick is to design your bathroom to get as much natural sunlight as possible without making it a peepshow for the neighbors. If you can’t do this, you have to get the next best thing. Look for bathroom lighting fixtures that will hold a large amount of bulbs for the best light.
You may have seen this type of bathroom lighting fixtures in public bathrooms, or on television. A row of small bulbs along the top of the mirror, and sometimes down the sides, offers the best light for applying makeup and shaving. These lights may not offer a lot of light individually, but when you add them all together, you have a great source of natural looking light that comes from all directions. This is great for seeing everything. If you have a single light hanging over your head, you may end up with makeup lines you didn’t notice, make up that is too dark, or a multitude of shaving nicks.
Home improvement stores are by far your best source for bathroom lighting fixtures. They have lights for every room of the house, and a section specifically geared towards bathroom lighting. Ask a salesperson for help, and make sure you shop around first. You may find fixtures you hadn’t thought of, and ideas you may not have though of on your own.

Many people neglect their bathrooms, or simply see them as an afterthought, yet using bathroom decorating ideas to spruce up this room can really make a big difference in your day. Although we don’t think about it, most of us spend a good deal of time in the bathroom, between grooming, showering, and doing our business, so decorating the bathroom can really make these parts of our days much more pleasant for us. Although there are bathroom remodeling services, I have always found (and I am sure that you will agree) that it is more fun to do it yourself, allowing you to really take an active role in the construction and upkeep of your own house. And, if you are not that design oriented of a person, bathroom decorating ideas are easy to come by. You can find them in design shows, architectural journals, and many other places as well. There are literally a million places where you can find ideas to decorate your bathroom, making it easy to find the perfect inspiration for this challenging, yet rewarding job.
Some of the best bathroom decorating ideas which I have found have been from the bathrooms of friends and relatives. We have just recently decorated our bathroom, and just to get everything planned out was a major hassle. When we were finally done, however, it all looked super. One of our best bathroom decorating ideas was to install a pattern of black and white tile on the floor. It seemed that this would be much more soothing than a plain tiled floor of less contrasting colors. Although many bathroom decorating ideas do get old, I knew that the black and white tiles would never get old, and I sure was right. I swear, sometimes I think that I should have a design show of my very own.
When you are writing down all of your bathroom decorating ideas, it is important not to forget the inside of your shower. Although this area is often overlooked, in reality, having a fun, upbeat look to it will really improve your outlook on the day. It is not visible from the outside, so the look of your shower is not important for short term hosting, but using bathroom decorating ideas to make it look appealing inside can really help you get your day rolling on a much more positive note than it would otherwise.

Your backyard can be your escape from the stresses of your day. For some people, sitting in a beautifully laid out yard is one of the most relaxing things they can do. You might also find inspiration by visiting local parks or botanical gardens. A walk around your own neighborhood may be just the thing you need as well. Whoever said that money doesn’t make the world go ’round was absolutely correct, but, they must not have ever had to worry about money issues. And to some people, money does buy happiness. All you need to do to realize how much of an importance money truly is to mankind, log onto the internet. There are enough of articles on money topics to keep you busy for weeks. Whether the writer is an expert or not, articles on money are overly abundant.
I was recently trying to find some articles on money saving tips and advice and found some truly helpful sites. Of course, I also came across some useless information as well. My biggest problem is developing a budget and sticking to it. A budget in my household only lasts about a week. After that, we find reasons to spend money on more frivolous items and something always comes up that needs immediate attention. It’s impossible for us to stash money into our savings account. Considering the fact that we’re hoping to buy a larger house in a year, this presents a problem. We simply lack the discipline for effective saving. I did manage to find several articles on money saving tips that allowed me to be a bit more creative in my attempts to cut down on some expenses and stash extra cash. Most articles on money saving tell you to find more coupons, shop outlets for clothing and groceries, find ways to decrease utility bills, conserve more gas, and lots of tips that are purely common sense.
I found a site that had tons of fun and creative articles on money saving that I actually enjoyed reading. My favorite tip was one that I put into effect immediately. I found an old shoebox and taped the lid on it. I cut a small hole in the top of the lid and wrapped it with wrapping paper. Once a week, or more, my husband and I committed to putting an undisclosed amount of money into the box. We can’t see inside of it, and we can’t open it up to take it out. It could be a simply dollar bill or ten dollars. We agreed to not let the other one know how much we’re contributing and we designated a certain date that we can open it up and that amount would be a weekend getaway or house money. I thought it was a brilliant idea and a way to have some fun. Who knows how much we could end up hiding and saving!
Most articles on money saving were informative but not very interesting. I’m a person who enjoys reading fresh new ways for saving extra cash. I can figure out the common sense methods on my own. I’d rather have someone tell me something that I would not have even considered, something that will actually last for more than a week.

If you want your house with a central air conditioning system installed, think again. The summer heat is unbearable, I agree. But the cost of the central conditioning system can get unbearable too what with escalating electricity bills. Besides, there are other costs including installing the system, charges for parts and labor and if need be, overhauling the ventilation system. These charges do not tag along with the prices of the central air conditioning systems that are featured online but appear eventually. If your house is constructed with inferior construction materials, then chances are that the ducts are not properly sealed. Then you have to shell out money to clean and seal the ducts professionally. Or if they are quite dirty, then they have to be replaced and rehung altogether.
A better alternative is installing a window-mounted air conditioning system which is much more economical while beating the summer beat. Their prices are reducing and they use less energy. So it is cheaper to have one air conditioned room than the whole house air conditioned by the central air conditioning system.
